Encouragement for the Moment

It is only when we pray for something according to the Will of God that we have the promise of being heard and answered.

O. Hallesby

So He said to them, “When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Luke 11:2

Sunday’s Word – 29Jul12

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.  For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”  The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,  and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

Romans 8: 14-17

Encouragement for the Moment

Prayer is not logical; it is a mysterious moral working of the Holy Spirit.

O. Chambers

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel,

Ephesians 6:18-19

Sunday’s Word – 22Jul12

For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.  This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.  And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 6: 38-40

Encouragement for the Moment

The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.

Psalms 34: 17-19

Encouragement of the Moment

We are ill-taught if we look for results only in the earthlies when we pray.  A praying saint performs for more havoc among the unseen forces of darkness than we have the slightest notion of.

O. Chambers

So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts.

Zech 4:6

Encouragement for the Moment

It is God’s Will not only to hear our prayer, but to give us the best and richest answer which He, the Almighty and omniscient God, can devise.  He will send us the answer when it will benefit us and His cause to the most.

O. Hallesby

Thus says the LORD: “In an acceptable time I have heard You, And in the day of salvation I have helped You; I will preserve You and give You As a covenant to the people, To restore the earth, To cause them to inherit the desolate heritages;

Isaiah 49: 8
